The present study assessed the binding affinities of perfluoroalkyl substances (PFASs) to the Baikal seal peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor α (PPARα) and compared them with those of human PPARα. The results provide the information on interspecies differences in the binding of PFASs to PPARαs and their structure-activity relationships. These findings may enable assessment of the risk of PFASs in the wild seal population.
